What is Taoism?
That differs among people! For me, it is about perception. That deeply affects the life we live. Accordingly, CenterTao focuses on the how, what, and why we think what we think. (See: The Why and What of Taoist Thought)
Speaking of thinking, the Tao Te Ching cautions us that: "One who knows does not speak; one who speaks does not know." Read more…

“This chapter served as a core model for raising my kids.”
I’m curious if you would post some specific examples of how this changed the way that you raised your kids. You guys are very open and have a lot of information about your family life online, but I thought that you might have some particularly striking examples.
I’m over here in Silicon Valley and see a fair amount of people who micromanage their children, and have very strong opinions of what careers their young children will be “allowed” to enter.
I reckon a parent’s fear drives them to over protect, manage and control their children’s lives. More broadly, core insecurity is the engine that drives over-action of any sort. Those who can’t overcome themselves compensate by trying to overcome others.
There are many chapters in the Tao Te Ching that provide natural models for raising kids. Anyway, the following link goes into ‘taoist parenting’ (probably more than you wish). Let me know if you have any questions.
